Joining a CraftGuild and Tasks
A map of Jordheim is a very handy thing to have. Go see the master of the
craft you have chosen and right click on them. If you are eligible, you
will be given membership into the order. You can power craft, to tasks for
your Master or a combination of the two. You can only do tasks in your
primary skill and only up to a skill of 650. Generally tasks will allow
you to earn gold and power crafting (making multiples of the same item for the
sole purpose of raising your skill) costs you gold, though there are a few
exceptions.
To ask for a task, click on the Master and type task. You can /whisper
task so that no one else will hear you or you can be inventive - Master Eskil,
do you have a task for me today? You will be told a person's name, general
direction and the item that they want.
Making the Item
Click the hand icon on your control bar. Now click on the icon for your
primary skill (Armorcraft, Weaponcraft, Tailoring or Fletching) and drop
it on your quick bar. It will probably be best to have at least one of
your quick bars just for crafting. Click on the primary skill icon and a
window will come up with all of the items you can make listed. If you
click on each type of item a listing of specific items appear below with
the name of the material used and the skill level required. Find the one
required for your task, click on it and place it on your quick bar.
Click the item icon. A window will come up with a list of supplies that
you will need. One of the things that you will need that won't be listed
is the tool you will need (tailoring kit, smith tool, plaining tool). The
one that you need can be purchased where you buy your materials. If you
are a Tailor or Fletcher you can purchase all of the materials needed for your
item. If you are an Armorcrafter or Weaponcrafter you will need to make
some of the components (the leather armor for crafting chain armor can be bought
from a merchant or a tailor - the tailor is usually cheaper). If you need
components that cannot be bought go back to your skill menu and pick up the icon
for the secondary skill that you will use to craft the item that you need
(generally metalworking or leatherworking) and add it to your quick bar.
Click on the icon for the secondary skill and a window will come up similar to
the primary skill window. Select the component that you need and add it to
your quick bar. The component will need materials as well; click on it and
you can find out what else you need.
Once you have assembled all of your materials you can begin. Fletchers may
need to be near the lathe. Armorcrafters and Weaponcrafters may need to be
near the forge. Click on the icon for a component that you need.
Either you will get a message that you are missing something or a box will pop
up with a green progress bar. You will receive a message stating weather
you made the item or not and if you gained any skill points. Once you have
successfully crafted the components, click on the icon for the item that you
need to make. You will get a box with a green progress bar followed by a
message of success or failure. Keep going until you succeed. Admire
the finished product! If you highlight the item in your inventory and then
SHIFT I a box will come up saying that it was made by you.
Take the item to the person that your Master sent you to. Drop the item on
them and they will give you coins.
Repeat the process by asking the Master for a task.
